In the hamlet of Groppoli, near the ruins of the Convent of St.Benedict, is the Bed and Breakfast “Il rifugio del pellegrino” (“The Pilgrim's Refuge”), whose structure in stone dating from about 1700.
Renovated in 2010, currently has two rooms for guests and bathroom, breakfast room, car parking and a large sunny terrace from which to admire the Apuan Alps and Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Immersed in the green valley of the Magra river, gives the possibility to easily reach on foot or horse trails. The Bed and Breakfast is a starting point to discover the dozens of castles in Lunigiana, its churches and the ancient Via Francigena whose travelers were once attached to the hospitality facilities in the Convent of St. Benedict. The speedway's exit of Pontremoli is a few minutes and from there you can quickly reach many tourist destinations such as Pisa, Florence, the Versilia and the 5 Terre.
