  CANIPAROLA

The villa of Caniparola The villa of Caniparola
Caniparola is located on the road that climbs towards Fosdinovo. The main attraction is the villa Malaspina built in 1724 by the Marquis Gabriele Malaspina. The villa was built on the same site where an old tower was built at the time of the Bishops of Luni. The rooms are characterized by big spaces with walls embellished by valuable frescos. It is surrounded by a wide park with Italian garden. After the loss of the fief in 1816, the Malaspina delivered the villa to the duke of Modena, who owned it till the second halves of the XIX century.
