  GUINADI SAN ROCCO

Guinadi Guinadi
Guinadi San Rocco is located along the road towards the Green lake at 582 meters high. It comprehends other fractions as Baselica, Monti, Cadugo, Navola, Veserada, San Lorenzo, Pian di Valle, Cervara and Prà del Prete, that form the valley of the Verde stream.
At the beginning of the vilage, the ancient country to the Bratello pass cross with the Borgallo one. The hamlet is structured in three parts, the "Castello", group of shed houses in the tallest part of the village, the "Piazzale" the center of the suburb with the bell tower, the oratory of St Rocco founded in 1616 and the zone "in fondo alla Villa."
Along the way toward Cervara, in the place Campiglia, the ruins of a small church are found, that the tradition wants the most ancient in the valley. Cervara was center of a hospital devoted to Maria, whose front is characterized by the "facion", sculptures common to the whole Lunigiana representing human heads with apotropaic function.
