  SUCCISA

Succisa in La Colla fraction Succisa in La Colla fraction
Succisa, from sub-Cisa, it is a collective name designating five small fractions, situated at the foot of the mount Molinatico, in the valley of the Magriola stream. In Succisa, we can find the ancient sanctuary of the Madonna of Montemese and the church of Succisa, whose original structure remain only the bell tower and some parts of the wall. According to the tradition, Saint Zita was born here in 1218, who moved to Lucca after her childhood.
