  TAVERNELLE

Tavernelle Tavernelle
Tavernelle is located along the road that from Licciana goes to the Lagastrello pass, on the right side of the Taverone stream. The suburb is very suggestive, characterized by portals, galleries and windows in sandstone. The name probably derives from the taverns of the medieval period, situated along the ancient "Street of the Salt. In fact, the suburb unties along one narrow street among the XV century buildings.
Inside the suburb a tower house is found, built in 1516, that brings the incision of the builder and the date, Alfonso Saffi. The XVI century church of St. Rocco dates back to 1500, built from the Antonetti family.
