LA SERRA
La Serra is located on a hill covered in olive groves that rises up behind the town of Lerici. The town gives onto a splendid view of the entire region, including the Isles of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.
Similar to other towns in the region, La Serra is made up of narrow streets, archways and steep steps. Like Tellaro, its foundation was probably a result of the demise of Barbazzano and San Lorenzo. In the 16th century, defensive walls were erected around the town to protect it from frequent Turkish invasions. The parish church preserves a valuable 17th century painting of San Giovanni.
A number of natural footpaths connect La Serra with Lerici, Tellaro, Fiascherino and Pugliola.
