THE CASTLE OF BAGNONE

The castle of Bagnone, dominating the village

The castle of Bagnone is dominated by an imponent large stone cylindrical tower, with brackets, embrasures and piercings bordered by frames. The tower is the only remain of the old castle, entirely disappeared and nowadays partly englobed in smaller buildings of the villa of the Counts Ruschi-Noceti. Perfectly preserved it is instead the medieval structure of the primitive suburb, articulated in rings degrading toward the valley. In the castle it is still possible to visit the small church of San Nicolao, where a wooden pulpit is preserved.

The castle is private and visit are not allowed.
