The castle of Gavedo is part of a wider defense system, a fortified line that from the castle goes down to the valley, moving through a series of towers: the contemporary tower in the palace of the Brignole-Sale family, the so-called "tower of the Sun" and finally the "turret" next to the river.
The castle has an imposing regular quadrangular structure whit a medieval squared tower encircled by a first building fencing and a posterior residential covering, dating back to the XVII-XVIII century.
