ARZELATO

The village of Arzelato

Arzelato derives its name form the latin "arx elata", elevated tower, as a similar construction existed in Roman times. It is situated on a spur of the mount Rotondo, at about 900 meters high, in the southern part of the Gordana stream valley. The hamlet is important for archaeological finds, like box-tombs and a statue-stele. In 1957 Arzelato was aggregate to Pontremoli from Zeri.
