MONTEDIVALLI

Montedivalli is part of Podenzana but is situated in Liguria, it lies on the slopes of the Val di Vara. The suburb is famous for a III millenium b.C. necropolis found in Genniciola and for the Parish of Sant’Andrea di Castello. The influece of the parish, build by the Bishops of Luni, extended in the Vara Valley and along the ancient itinerary of the Aemilia Scauri road. The church is parish structured in three elegant aisles and realized completely in stone. It has a bare façade, with marmoreal drafts of the primitive wall. The inside shows traces of the medieval epoch, with beautiful figured and Corinthian capitals, three statues in marble of the XIV representing the Madonna with her Child, St. Pietro and a Pietà of Christ.
