ROCCA SIGILLINA

Rocca Sigillina
The Rocca Sigillina

The village of Rocca Sigillina is located on a dominant position up on a hill. At the entrance we find the baroque church of Saint George and the rests of the ancient castle. In the Middle Ages, Filattiera, Pontremoli and Parma fought for the village, because of its importance on the roads towards Parma. It started to decline with the development of the most accessible road of Mount Bardone. The village is composed by two nuclei, upper and lower.
In 1525, the men of the village gave themselves to Florence.
