The ruins of the castle of Treschietto are located in a suggestive mark, over a spur under the Orsaro mount. Treschietto was reachable in the Middle Age only through two little stone bridges, accessible via mule tracks and encircled by the streams Aquetta, Bagnone and Tanagorda.
Treschietto was the center of the feuds of Giovanni Malaspina with Vico, Iera and Corlaga, when the bigger feud of Filattiera was divided in 1351. In 1698 marquis Ferdinand, the last of the Malaspina of Treschietto, sold its feud to the Gran Duke Cosimo III.
The ruins of the castle are accessible only from the northeast side and are constituted from what remains of the external quadrilateral walled enclosure, once extended on the whole crest of the rocky hill, overhelmed by the circular tower. Of the inner buildings remain little traces.
Little far away from the ruins, in 1969 a feminine statue-stele was discovered. This is famous today as the "Venere di Pietra" of Treschietto. A legend says that in the castle basements is hidden a little cow of gold.
