THE CASTLE OF BIBOLA

The ruins of the castle of Bibola

The castle of Bibola is the result of the aggregation of different constructions in four separate phases. The first constructive phase, perhaps going back to the XII-XIII century, it coincides with a line of west masonry of the factory. The general plant of the castle, quadrilateral plant with two circular towers, it is referable to the second constructive phase in the XIV century. The third phase of the building goes back to the tower in the angle southeast, with a diameter of around six meters and a notable building thickness. Some well preserved architectural elements, of the fourth constructive phase of the castle, can be observed on the front southeast of the building curtain.
