THE CASTLE OF PONTEBOSIO

The castle of Pontebosio

The castle of Pontebosio was built for the defence of a bridge which permitted the entrance to the valley. It dominates the main public square of the small medieval suburb and was probably built in the medieval age under the Bosi family and later on it followed the fate of Bastia and Monti. The present aspect dates back to the XVII century. It is an elegant residence with four square towers to the angles, open galleries and balconies.
Is is private property.
