BARBARASCO
Barbarasco is the place of Tresana townhall from 1818. The first written mention dates back to 1126, making reference to the flat land among the magra river and its tributaries Osca and Penolo. The first nucleus that formed the suburb rose in the XV and XVI centuries. Barbarasco made part of the fief of Tresana that extinguished in the XVII century with Taddea, daughter and heir of Francisco Malaspina. It was then part of the fief of Olivola.
The church of San Quirico was built between 1769 and 1784 with Bartolomeo III Malaspina. It is located in front of his residence in Barbarasco. It has a Baroque style, and it is a small reproduction of the church of the Santissima Annunziata of Florence. The bell tower was constructed much later in 1831 and finished in 1833.
