CAPRIO
Caprio
Caprio is found on the right part of the same stream. It is a very characteristic village and reminds to the architecture to Pontremoli. The medieval tower houses are typical of the suburb. Historically, Caprio was Pontremoli dominion, rounded by the Malaspina. The Caprio stream was the border between the two possessions. In 1546, Cosimo de Medici the Great bought from the Noceti the Rocca Sigillina suburb and in 1549 Filattiera as well. It was the end of Pontremoli influence on Caprio.
