The territory of Compione belonged to the fief of Bagnone. Between Iera and Compione we find the ruins of the castle of Iera, probably controlling the road between the fiefs of Treschietto and Bagnone. As in other villages of Lunigiana, in Compione we find a lot of majesties representing Madonnas.
