The village of Corvarola stands to the right of the Civiglia stream. In the Middle Ages, it was the center of a malaspinian castle, surrounded by seven towers. Today only a few ruins remain, inglobated in the hamlet. The suburb made part after 1351 of the Castiglione of the Terziere fief.
