SOLIERA
The ancient village of Soliera is situated in the Aulella valley. Like Moncigoli, it was one of the dominions of the Luni bishop, granted by Marquis Oberto in 998. In 1185, emperor Federico granted the castle to Pietro, bishop of Luni. In the XIII century Soliera passed under the Malaspina Soliera until 1477, when it was submitted to Florence.
Soliera presented a fortified village in the XI century, but today only remain some parts of the walls and some of the original towers. Along them were built the houses which kept their line. Nothing remain of the ancient parish of Saint Maria Assunta and of the XI century castle of Rodolfo from Casola.
In Soliera it was found a statue-statue of the C group.
