TORSANA
The village of Torsana
Characteristic mountain village, Torsana is part of the National Park of the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano. The village is dipped in the green between mounts, hills and lawns.
The church of San Giacomo Maggiore dates back to the XII century, with a powerful bell tower. The dominant color is the dark gray of the sandstone. Torsana was in fact a village of experts craftsmen: archivolts, portals, friezes and like in other villages of the Lunigiana, the "faciòn", grotesque figures placed on the houses to drive away the malignant spirits.
